Aguirre: The Wrath of God

In an attempt to post more I have a notepad in which every film I watch I will write a side. This notepad is tiny so it won't take much effort and will allow me to write where ever I am. So for my first film 'Aguirre: The Wrath of God'

Aguirre: The Wrath of God

This is a hugely ambitious film but is put together in a very rough way usual to a Werner Herzog film. The contrast of huge budget and an artist with free reign is really odd. The freedom results in a genuinely unique vision but leaves the film with a few strange "mistakes". Klaus Kinski is a truly terrifying actor. The pace is very slow in the film but that isn't necessarily a bad thing more than just a choice from the director. Bleak indeed.
